Watercolor Daylily Painting Process

Painting flowers is so relaxing. I often find my brush (and mind) casually wandering between petal, leaf, stem, and bud. It’s especially fun when you are trying to paint something very loose and expressive. Letting the pigment flow freely between elements.

In this video I share my process for painting a watercolor daylily. I am currently working on a larger commission of this subject, and wanted to share my thoughts about how I prepare for that.

I hope you enjoy!
