My France Watercolor Palette

While I was in Provence I easily convinced myself that I “need” a watercolor palette full of colors that remind me of France.

I visited four separate art stores in different areas of France and bought a little bit here and there.

But my biggest excitement came from walking the “ochre trails” in Roussillon. Touching real ochre and then buying the pigment as a watercolor pan then painting with it?? Yes please!

Luckily next to the trail there was a little shop full of pigment! painting with these on location was such a cool feeling.

The main “logo” I saw on the paints says La Cie des Ocres. As a bonus they have a website so you can buy all of their pigments from abroad. Sorry not sorry 🤣

I bought all of the local Roussillon ochre colors plus a few extra. The rest of the spots are filled with colors I bought at Sennelier and Charvin in Paris.
